Reiner Riedler: The Lifesaving Machines

The photographic series, The Lifesaving Machines, by Reiner Riedler on view at Sous Les Etoiles Gallery in New York City, was inspired by a “late night vigil for his newborn son who was in a neonatal intensive care unit.” He began photographing life-saving machines at a hospital in Vienna and went on to contact the manufacturers of these machines to have better access to his subjects. What the photographs behold is a very intimate window to these almost humanlike machines. These incredible photos of dialysis machines, respirators, artificial hearts and beyond will be displayed at the gallery through December 20th. We urge you to view this work.
